Andrea Simao began her federal service with APHIS in 1994 as a plant protection and quarantine officer. Andrea has served in a variety of roles, also including senior training specialist, national program manager, and now director for PPQ’s Phytosanitary Issues Management (PIM). PIM facilitates and negotiates, through the use of scientifically based processes and international standards, the safe export and import of agricultural commodities including horticultural, agronomic, and forestry products. Simoa holds degrees in agriculture science and public administration.
